In order to combine the successive engagement and withdrawal of a coupling and uncoupling process of a central mechanical coupling and of an electrical cable connector with a common rotary action providing the lowest cost of operation consistent with adequate performance, a coupling and uncoupling system has a driven shaft arranged vertically with respect to the coupling shaft on whose shaft is rigidly attached against torsion an actuating arm that engages in a guide rail in the cable connector and that is thus provided as a direct driving element for the cable connector, an uncoupling lever for mechanical coupling of the central coupling and the actuating arm necessarily being combined by means of the shaft. A connecting device for the coupling and uncoupling system with switches and parts for making and releasing the connection respectively controls the connection and the subsequent sequence of coupling and uncoupling of the mechanical coupling for the central coupling and the electrical cable connector.
