Concentrating sulphuric acid containing effluent solutions produced in manufacturing titanium dioxide based on the sulphate process

A method for purifying the process effluent solutions produced in manufacturing titanium dioxide, based on a sulphate process. The effluent solutions (11) containing sulphuric acid produced in washing titanium hydroxide or part, of them are evaporated using a steam compressing method in order to produce a pure condensate (13), and an effluent 9 solution (14) concentrated in its sulphuric acid content. The invention also relates to a method for manufacturing titanium dioxide in which said purification method is used.
