Fibre/resin regenerate (I), consisting of crushed residues of fibre sheet impregnated and/or coated with thermosetting resin in an intermediate morphological stage (II) and opt. inorganic fillers. Fibres in (I) are below 10 (pref. 0.5-5) mm. long, and (I) contains 10-50 (pref. 20-40)wt.% (II), pretreatment of residues involves (a) drying without curing the resin, (b) cooling below the glass transition pt. of (II) and/or (c) adding inorganic fillers, pref. inorganic fillers are added during milling. Also claimed is a process for the prodn. of (I), by possibly precrushing the residues, pretreating to improve the milling properties and then milling to fibre length below 10 mm. USE/ADVANTAGE - (I) is useful as the curable component in moulding materials, friction linings and fireproof materials (claimed). The invention provides a means of recycling scrap fibre sheet impregnated with incompletely cured (II), to give useful prods. with properties as good as those of prods. made with fresh resin (thus saving resin materials).
