ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSUREA mean distribution of viewer looking time for agroup of individuals each viewing a dynamic audio andvisual video program measures the mean attention spancorresponding to each distinct audio and video componentof the overall program. The video program is recorded inmeasured sequential scenes, with each scene correspondingto a selected audio or visual signal and being comprisedof distinct visual areas of interest. Eye point of gazedata is recorded for the duration of the program for eachindividual viewer in the group. A compiled eye point ofgaze data file is compared with a scene by scene datafile to produce a third data file showing a meandistribution of viewer looking time for each selectedaudio and visual signal.
