More particularly the method for preparing ir-radiated polypropylene articles comprising extruding polyprop-ylene, quenching said extruded polypropylene immediately afterextrusion to provide non-crystalline mesomorphous polypropylene;and irradiating said non-crystalline mesomorphous polypropylenewith a dosage of ionizing radiation that would degrade crystal-line polypropylene.
