- 19 - 53,834ABSTRACTA more creep resistant turbine rotor and novelmethods for repairing worn surfaces of Cr-Mo-V steamturbine components are disclosed. These methods includespecified alloy compositions and welding procedures thatminimize weld stresses and cracking. These alloys exhibitimproved creep and fatigue properties and are preferablydeposited using a gas tungsten arc welding procedure. Beadsequencing, cooling side plates and the use of run-off tabsare also disclosed for minimizing welding defects inturbine rotors and discs.
