MAGNESIA PARTIALLY-STABILIZED ZIRCONIA CERAMICS AND PROCESS FOR MAKING THE SAME

ABSTRACTA method for producing a magnesia partially-stabilized zirconia ceramics is provided. The methodpreferably consists of combining zirconium dioxidehaving a silica content of up to 0.5 weight percent witha magnesium-containing component. This mixture is thencompacted, heated, and cooled at a controlled rate,without aging, to form said zirconia ceramics.
