VACCINE AGAINST RINDERPEST VIRUS USING RECOMBINANT VACCINIA VIRUS

ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSUREA plasmid comprising a gene coding for anantigenic protein of the rinderpest virus and a viralpromoter which can express that gene, as well as a genederived from a vaccinia virus which is not essential forthe growth of the vaccinia virus, wherein the gene codingfor the antigenic protein and the viral promoter have beeninserted in the gene not essential for the growth of thevaccinia virus; a recombinant vaccinia virus prepared by arecombination of the above-mentioned plasmid and a vacciniavirus; a process for the production of the recombinantvaccinia virus; a vaccine against the rinderpest virus,comprising the recombinant vaccinia virus; and a method forimmunization of a mammal against rinderpest viruscomprising injecting the mammals with the recombinantvaccinia virus.
