Abstract:A method of assembling a wound rotor of an electricrotating machine includes laying down a rotor body on itsside in a pit in the power house of a hydroelectric plantsuch that its circumferential top surface protrudes from thepit to an extent that facilitates workers carrying out fieldcoil assembling operations from the foundation of the powerhouse. Also, any possibly necessary increase in height ofthe power house is limited to the sum of the axial length ofthe assembled wound rotor and the height of a crane liftingjig.
