ABSTRACTEnvironmentally Protected Housing forUsing Central Office Protector Modules OutdoorsAn environmentally protected housing for receiving aconnector block in which a multiplicity of central officeprotector modules can be mounted. The housing is designedsuch that its surface area is slightly larger than thesurface area of the connector block and when the block andmodules are mounted in the housing the top of the modules isjust below the cover of the housing. Telephone cables whichare used to connect to the cables from the central officeand from the subscribers enter the housing and are wired tothe rear of the connector block. The connector block ismounted in the housing and the modules are placed therein.A potting compound is then poured in the bottom of thehousing to thereby environmentally seal the terminals andconnections thereto on the rear of the protector block. Thehousing has a cover which has a suitable seal on its insidesurface. The closing of the cover provides the environ-mentally protected housing. There is a further housing inwhich the environmentally protected housing can he mounted.
