CATALYTIC DENITRIFICATION CONTROL PROCESS ANDSYSTEM FOR COMBUSTION FLUE GASESABSTRACT OF DISCLOSUREA control process and system for catalytic denitrificationof NOx containing flue gases derived from a fuel combustion unitsuch as a gas turbine by ammonia addition to the flue gasupstream of a catalytic denitrification unit. The ammoniaaddition rate is controlled based on a basic signal which isgenerated based on functional parameters including the fuelbeing burned, its combustion temperature, flue gas flow rate,ammonia flow rate and the catalytic activity, so as to injectinitially into the flue gas stream less ammonia than istheoretically required. Then the NOx concentration in the exhaustgas downstream of the catalytic unit is compared with theappropriate standard, the ammonia quantity initially being added isfurther adjusted until the NOx concentration in gas emittedto the atmosphere is reduced sufficiently to meet local cleanair standards while avoiding unsatisfactory excess ammoniainjection and system oscillation.
