ABSTRACTAn adjustable valve lash train for an overhead valveengine includes a rocker arm stud having a threaded shankreceived in a correspondingly threaded bore in said cylinderhead. The rocker arm stud includes an integral head havinga spherically shaped bearing surface on the undersurfacethereof in engagement with a correspondingly shaped bearingsurface on the rocker arm. The head of the rocker arm studincludes a hexagonally shaped recess in the top surfacethereof for receipt of an adjustment tool. A threaded jamnut is received about the threaded shank of the rocker armstud for selectively locking the threaded shank againstrotation with respect to the threaded bore of the cylinderhead. A push rod guide plate is sandwiched between thecylinder head and the jam nut adjacent the shank of therocker arm stud for controlling lateral displacement of apush rod.
