The acid washing of leached solids obtained from the beneficiation of titaniferous ores. In particular, the invention forms a part of a process for the beneficiation of titaniferous ores to produce a product high in titanium dioxide, and low in other metal oxides, which is suitable for use as a pigment, or is suitable for the subsequent production by chlorination of titanium dioxide pigments, or for the production of titanium metal.
