A monocrystalline MnZn-ferroferrite material for use is a magentic head is described. The material corresponds to the formula MnaZnbFecIIFe2IIIO4, wherein 0.25 a 0.48; 0.50 b 0.60; 0.02 c 0.15; a + b + c = 1. The magnetostriction constants of this material are particularly small.
