In a heating or air-conditioning unit in the front side of an omnibus, having a module (4) containing at least one fan (14) and a heat exchanger (12-13), and an air distribution chamber (28) connecting with the heat exchanger (12-13), from which the air is guided to air outlets disposed in the region of the instrument panel, and having a front-side air intake (20) which can be closed alternately with a recirculating air feed, it is proposed in order to obtain an easily installable and maintainable module (4), which also meets high requirements, for the module (4) to be accommodated under- floor above the space occupied by the spare wheel, such that it can be mounted from the front side before the spare wheel is fitted in. Below the module (4) a housing (6) having an arrangement of dampers (22-30) and a coarse filter (21) on the air-intake side is mounted. IMAGE
