The present invention allowed to observe the inhibition of interleukin-8 (IL-8) release induced by HRF (histamine-releasing factor) of histamine in basophils contained in a 17 donors population of 20 donors, in concentrations of as low as 10-9 to 10-8 M. inhibition of histamine release was observed with IL-8 significantly higher in normal subjects than among patients allergies (59 U 31 U 8% against 7%, p 0.04). IL-8 has had an inhibiting effect on the release of histamine-induced cytokine and did not affect the release of histamines by anti-IgE FMLP and C5a. A method for inhibiting release of allergic agents vectors with interleukin-8 is claimed.
