SYSTEM FOR SYNTAX ANALYSIS OF JAPANESE LANGUAGE.

A system for syntax analysis of Japanese language comprises a local syntax analyzing unit (3) which determines implications among the words and forms an analytical tree which indicates implications among the words, and a generic syntax analyzing unit (4) which, when a Japanese sentence indicated by the analytical tree formed by the local syntax analyzing unit (3) is a complex sentence, determines the warrantability of a portion to where a postpositional word functioning as an auxiliary to a main word is implicated depending on the syntax information of the above words, meaning information, and predetermined analytical rules based on the structural features of the above Japanese language, and corrects the analytical tree as required. The system is capable of automatically analyzing the implicating structures of complex sentences in the Japanese language, and helps reduce the laborious work of decomposing complex sentence into simple sentences through human hand.
