A superheterodyne receiver is applied to the installations for receiving television signals transmitted by satellite. The receiver makes it possible to receive such signals within a wide RF band lying for example between 950 and 2750 MHz by converting this RF band to a fixed intermediate frequency. It comprises a band-pass filter (31) which is tunable throughout the reception band, a local oscillator (40), and a means (41) controlling the band-pass filter and the local oscillator in order to establish a beat frequency between the frequency of the local oscillator and the tuning frequency of the band-pass filter, this beat corresponding to the frequency FI. The control means (41) is configured so that the beat frequency inverts at a certain tuning frequency of the filter so that the band swept by the oscillator can be half as large as the reception band.
