Thin deformable sheet made of aluminium alloy of fine and homogeneous structure which has a high elastic limit, and a process for the manufacture of the said sheet. This sheet, between 0.1 and 3 mm in thickness, is obtained by casting onto a metal surface travelling at a speed higher than 0.1 m/s and has a structure in which the additional elements are in the form of eutectic particles between 0.05 and 2 micrometres in size, dispersed homogeneously throughout the thickness of the sheet. It finds its application in the majority of cases where it is necessary to have available sheets with a high elastic limit so as to enable them to be easily converted by deformation into finished products such as, in particular, small tubs, tins and lids.
