The mechanism, consists of a tube (3) with its inner cavity (5) filled with a fluid and containing a sliding rod (4). This is actuated by the expansion of the fluid to turn the panel (1) about an axis. The free end of the rod (4) is situated outside the tube and is connected by a plate (8) to a transmission mechanism (6). This has a coil spring to return the panel to its initial position when the sun sets. ADVANTAGE - The arrangement enables the panel to move with the sun but at reduced cost, giving extra power output from panel.
