The moisture content measuring method involves heating a sample and measuring the absorption level of IR radiation by the vaporisation product transferred to a NDIR gas humidity measuring device via a carrier gas. The latter is supplied to a closed measuring cell (24) lying in the beam path of an IR source at one end and is discharged from the measuring cell (24) at the opposite end. A filter wheel (25) with a reference filter and a measuring filter and a lens (26) focussing the IR radiation onto a PbS cell are also located in the beam path.
