The system consists of a band (4) of flexible material which passes round the column and has a locking clip (6) to fix it in place, and brackets (5) which are held in place against the column by the tensioned band. Each bracket is connected by a nut and bolt to the upper end of a metal stay (2), the lower end of which is fixed to the ground. The brackets (5) are made from metal and are U-shaped, having slots for the band to pass through and curled tips to prevent damage to the column or band. The system can be used with columns or found or square cross-section. ADVANTAGE - Re-usable, more convenient to use, and suitable for columns of different configurations.
