The automated, mobile storage unit for different miniaturised components is in the form of a carousel magazine (1). The carousel has a large number of slide-in drawer segments (3) that can be selectively extended in a radial direction to provide access to the components. The carousel can be rotationally indexed and a drawer extended by an internal unit controlled by a built in PC. The system is programmed to deliver a sequence of parts.
