Novel compounds DC-92B and DC-92D having an anthraquinone structure represented by planar structural formula (I) and a process for their preparation. These compounds are produced by cultivating microorganisms belonging to the genus Actinomajula. They have antibacterial and oncostatic activities, thus being useful as medicines. In the formula, R represents a group represented by the formula (II) or (III).
