Multi-waveband radio aerial for motor vehicle - combines centre-loaded low-band receive-only antenna with separate high-band receive-transmit stub aerial

The wideband monopole aerial comprises low (1) and high (2) frequency sections. The l.f. section for long, medium and short wave radio signals is formed from either a tubular cross-section or solid whip centre-loaded (3) antenna and is connected to the car radio via a screened cable (5) and a low pass filter (6). The h.f. portion is formed from a length of wire (7) that is either coaxially-located within the tubular l.f. antenna (2') or positioned parallel to the whip antenna and is connected to the mobile radio equipment (such as C-Netz) via a coaxial connector. USE/ADVANTAGE - Separate low and high frequency antennae do not incur coupling/filtering losses.
