A frame, for fitting into a wall to take a window, door or other filling for an opening, and one which can be made in situ or prefabricated, has a sealing section fixed on all round its periphery; this seal is made of a weather-proof elastic foam; it is clearly visible outside the frame and is tapered in its cross-section. Preferred polymers for the foam are polyethylene, polyether and polyester. ADVANTAGE - The frame is easy to instal. It has minimal effect upon the environment. It is easily adjusted when once installed, after which no further action is needed at the joint into the wall. It allows e.g. a new frame to be inserted into an opening after removing its predecessor.
