The effective thickness of the film of ink formed on the feed roller (2) is measured by an electronic device (6) for comparison with the desired value (9) in an electronic regulator (8). The error signal is applied to an electric drive (11) which adjusts the position of a blade (4) controlling the width of the gap (5) between the end of the ink duct (3) and the surface of the feed roller (2). ADVANTAGE - Time-invariant and esp. uniform thin film is produced with possibility of faster correction by mechanism suitable also for high-grade printing.
