The method grinds undercut cutting tools on their chip faces, being particularly for the cutter inserts of a roller-milling tool, and using the periphery of the tool in a surface-grinder. The cutter inserts (S) are so clamped on bases (U) that their chip surfaces (C) are parallel to the plane in which the grinder works. The bases can be of different cross-sections, so as to give the correction value for the cutting angle. They can be of refined or hardened steel. USE/ADVANTAGE - No need for special grinder with indexing mechanism during grinding of undercut cutting tools.
