Unit comprises a displaceable medium flowing out of a storage chamber when this is forced open and releasing a setting member in the process. It has a body manufactured by the LIGA process, and has a disc with calibrated passages, delaying the outflow of the medium. The body can be of nickel or another galvanically-detachable metal delaying ignition, while the passages are formed of chemically-degradable titanium. USE/ADVANTAGE - The mechanical delayed-action unit is for military equipment such as bombs, shells etc. ensuring timed self-destruction etc., and has minimum size and simple assembly. The LIGA process comprises X-ray lithography with simultaneous synchroton irradiation, galvano-forming and destruction of synthetic material. It gives higher aspect ratios for the micro-structures.
