Spreading sensor for length measurement in hollow chambers, esp. bores - has tubes with slotted end and radial sensing pins on diametrically opposed end apertures acted upon by needle-shaped spreading pin
Spreading sensor for length measurement in hollow chambers, esp. bores - has tubes with slotted end and radial sensing pins on diametrically opposed end apertures acted upon by needle-shaped spreading pin
The spreading sensor for length measurement in hollow chambers has a tube with a central slit in one end forming two tube halves. The slit width is less than the tube bore. Each half of a contact body bisecting the slit is attached to its corresp. tube half and is acted upon by a wedge or ball on the front end of a needle-shaped rod (38) centrally held in the tube. Two radial sensing pins (28.1, 28.2) with external contact points and used as contact body halves are mounted in diametrically opposed radial wall apertures in the leading end of the tube. Each pin is attached to the edge of its aperture by adhesive or a press fit. USE/ADVANTAGE - Esp. for measuring lengths in bores. Spreading sensor is less costly than conventional ones and is simpler to manufacture.
