Milling head for slightly rough surfaces - has cutter plate holders turning between milling and dressing positions

The milling head is for planing slightly-rough flat surfaces, having a body round which cutter-plates are evenly spaced on a common pitch circle. Plate-holders (2) turn on spindles (3') in the body (1), for an amount limited by stops (4') and corresponding to the respective clearance angles. A bit (6') is changed over by a selector (7') between the positions for milling and tool-dressing, and is secured by a lock (9') in each of these positions. The plates can be secured to the spindles by grubscrews, while the stops consist of cylindrical pins fitting in drillings. ADVANTAGE - Simple, safe and rapid changeover between milling and dressing positions.
