The pad for supporting the human spinal column, especially in the region of the loins, is made from a material of high compressive strength so that the cross-section of the pad is resistant to compressive deformation. The pad(1) has two parallel vertical ribs(5,6) formed on its inner surface with a groove(7) between the ribs. The groove receives the projecting regions of the spinal column. The height of the ribs and the depth of the groove are so arranged that the pad does not exert any pressure on the adjoining muscles. USE/ADVANTAGE - Support for the spinal column.
