Combined bundled and twisted yarn - uses pneumatic false-twister for drawn sliver followed by centrifugal spinning

To produce a combined bundled yarn, with a true twist, a drawn sliver of the required final thickness is partially bonded in a pneumatic false twister in a bundling process. It then passes to a centrifugal spinning process to give a true twist of the cladding fibres in a tight winding round the whole yarn cross section. The spinning speed in the centrifugal spinning stage is pref. identical to the yarn speed through the yarn bundling process. The high draft drawing unit has three and pref. four pairs of rollers, condensers and belts. It is followed by a special air jet or a combination of air jets, and at least one further pair of rollers. The final stage has at least one centrifugal spindle with a yarn guide tube. ADVANTAGE - The method gives faster mfg. speeds to give a yarn of high strength and a similar structure to conventionally spun yarns.
