An input signal (UE) having an AC component is applied (3) top the base of the transistor (1). The output (5) into a resistive load (8) is linearised by a compensatory signal introduced by a current source (7) in the emitter circuit. The mutual conductance of this source is worked out with consideration of full compensation of the AC component of the input (UE), as the receiprocal of the sum of the output impedance (4) of the emitter circuit and the external load resistance (8). ADVANTAGE - Good linear transmission characteristics despite low supply voltage and circuit complexity.
