Heat exchanger has a gp. of passages whose inlets and outlets are both linked with the central area of the sepg. column, and a second gp. of passages which each have an inlet and an outlet pipe for the heat transfer medium. Fluid within the first gp. flows upwards with the gas; the upper heat exchanger faces act as rectifier bases; and a run-off shaft leads from the rectifier bases to the inner area of the separator column underneath the heat exchangers. USE/ADVANTAGE - Separates high b.pt. components e.g. C2+-, C3+- or from C4+ hydrocarbons, from a gas mixt., also contg. components with a lower b.pt.
