Continence slip of fluid- and gas-proof material retains discharges from the bowel or bladder, having sealing portions at the legs and waist. It is of homogeneous extensible material with elastic surfaces, smooth on the inside, at the edges of the waist- and leg-sealing portions, together with edges turned inside out through 180 deg., at least at the legs, when pulling the slip on. The material can be silicon rubber, vulcanised on the moulding body. A detachable insert of fluid-absorbent material can be included, typically cellular material or cotton-waist. This can contain absorbent chemicals such as active carbon, to prevent inflation by gaseous discharges. ADVANTAGE - Accommodates all normal movements of the user, e.g. walking, standing, sitting or lying.
