The grooved ball bearing is made of polycrystalline ceramics material, esp. a non oxide ceramic such as silicon nitride. It has an inner and outer ring (3) with a cage in between and a bearing track (5). The bearing (1) has a volumetric efficiency of more than fifty percent, according to the formula:- 2 x (number of rollers - 1) x beta x 100 percent/360 deg., where beta = arcsin (r/(R-r)) and r = roller radius and R = radius of the bearing track (5) from the outer ring. USE/ADVANTAGE - High axial load bearing ability, with vertical mounting which prevents roller loss.
