Peak value measurement, esp. of single pulses in HV measurement - using digital regulation to remove offset drift and other circuit-related error

A peak value measurement method involves applying a h.v. pulse to a potential divider (1) and taking a proportional output voltage from the l.v. arm (2) for electronic evaluation. Its peak value is detected (3), digitised (6) and temporarily stored in a computer (7) taking account of offset drift. After temporary storage the divider output is disconnected from the input to the electronic circuit. The supposed equipment-related error measurement part is removed form the stored value and the difference fed via a d-a converter to the input as a reference voltage instead of the output voltage. When the two values are equalised by digital regulation the digital value of the reference voltage is displayed as the error-free peak value. USE - Esp. for use with single pulses in h.v. testing.
