Compsns. for topical treatment of neurodermatitis or related disorders contain triamcinolone acetonide (I), a coal tar deriv. (II), and a cpd. (III) selected from salicylic acid (IIIa) and acetylsalicylic acid (IIIb). Pref. the compsns. are ointments or creams contg. 0.02-0.04 (esp. 0.03) wt.% (I), 1-1.9 (esp. 1.5) wt.% (II) and 1-1.9 (esp. 1.5) wt.% (III). (II) is `Pix Lithanthracis' or a coal tar distillate. USE/ADVANTAGE - The compsns. may be used to treat neurodermatitis (a genetically predisposed immune disorder) and all dry forms of eczema with hyperkeratosis. The compsns. can contain less (I) than prior art compsns. e.g., `Delphicort' (RTM), thus reducing the risk of side effects, and are effective in cases resistant to other treatments.
