The planetary piston engine has a motor housing (1), with a cylindrical piston chamber (2). This contains a rotary piston (3), with radially outward projecting drive sections (7), which moves along the jacket (6) of the piston chamber during rotation. A combustion gas, compressed to working pressure, is expanded in a working section (8), so that it applies a drive force, acting in rotary direction, to the drive section. The working section has a housing-fastened expansion chamber (9), open towards the rotary piston. The piston has a filler channel (15, 15'), which rotates during operation. The piston chamber-sided opening (16) of the channel passes the open side (18) of the expansion chambers during rotation. The chambers are filled with a combustion gas, precompressed to working pressure, via the channel. ADVANTAGE - Simpler construction, requires less space to give more expansion strokes.
