摘要
An electrolysis cell, for gas evolving or consuming electrolytic processes, has a housing with cathodic and anodic current distribution and at least one fluidised electrode comprising individual electrode elements, the novelty being that (i) the electrode elements have a pulverulent structure with an average dia. of max. 500 microns but sufficiently large that the characteristics of a suspension of the electrode material in the electrolyte are retained; and (ii) at least one system, which interacts directly with the electrode elements, is provided for electrode element transport to and pref. retention at the reaction-side region of the current distributor. USE/ADVANTAGE - The cell may be used, e.g., for removal of metals from waste water or for solar prodn. of hydrogen by electrolysis. It has an extremely large electrode surface, ensures an overall zero electrode spacing under fluctuating process conditions, avoids overloading of the separator system (membrane or diaphragm) and allows use of a solid electrolyte as the separator system.
