Inverted converter for lead circuit contg. discharge lamp - contains bistable switching device with bimetallic changeover switch contg. switching, rest and working contacts
Inverted converter for lead circuit contg. discharge lamp - contains bistable switching device with bimetallic changeover switch contg. switching, rest and working contacts
The inverted converter has at least two alternately and periodically switching switches connected in series to an intermediate circuit voltage. One is connected between the load circuit and a d.c. source and the other is parallel to a load circuit. A bistable switch connected to the load circuit switches off if a discharge lamp (LL) in the load circuit does not ignite, thus interrupting the ignition process. The bistable switch is a bimetallic changeover device (BMU) with switching (SK), rest (RK) and working contacts (AK). The rest contact is in a series resonant circuit (Lx, Cx). The bimetallic switching contact heats up during the ignition process and changes to the working contact position if ignition fails. The working contact is in series with a heatable discharge lamp electrode (HW) in a circuit which holds the switch in the working position. ADVANTAGE - Has bistable switch with minimum number of electrical and electronic components and minimal production costs.
