Detecting and evaluating vibration sources in machinery - dividing into frequency bands, rectifying, smoothing, and feeding large amplitude signals or dynamically varying signals to regulator for acoustic or visual indication
The method of detecting and evaluating causes of vibration involves detecting the vibration stimulus and producing a corresp. signal which is divided into signals in different frequency ranges. Each signal is rectified and smoothed and processed in an evaluation circuit which only passes signals to a controller which are above a defined amplitude and/or have amplitude changes exceeding a defined threshold. The signals are passed individually or summed, and are indicated and/or converted into audible form. USE/ADVANTAGE - Esp. for evaluating critical vibration sources in machines or components. Method can be used with very different types of measurement system and for very complicated spectral measurement signal compositions.
