The rotating cutter has one or more reversible cutter inserts (3) around the circumference. The cutter insert is prismatic with an approx. triangular section. It is formed from a base section (12) with a strengthening rib (19) and it has brazed onto it two hardmetal strips (10, 11) whose end faces (13, 14) are ground as form cutters with different profile segments. The strengthening rib is inclined at a small angle to the cutter axis. USE/ADVANTAGE - Cheap, simple and robust tool suitable for a variety of machining applications.
