The satellite receiving system has a multi-feed system with at least two exciters i.e. hollow conductors (1',1") to receive electromagnetic waves. The waves are emitted from two geostationary satellites and are respectively circularly or orthogonally polarised. A converter (16) is connected to only one of the conductors (1,1) with a convertor switch-over and a polarisation rotator (3',3") in each conductor (1',1"). Reception of appropriately polarised waves is carried out by a common control of all the polarisation rotators (3',3"). The selection in respect of a conductor or feed system (1'1") allocated to a particular satellite is carried out by corresponding control of the converter switch-over. Each exciter has a pre-amplifier (15'15") that is either switched on or off so that only one is active at a given time. The exciter outputs are bandpass filtered and coupled to the output (29) via a mixing stage (23) that acts with a local oscillator frequency (25), and another amplifier (31). ADVANTAGE - Uses minimal bandwidth.
