Granulated ammonium sulphate prepn. with improved storage properties - by addn. of hexa methylene tetramine and/or methyl cellulose prior to granulation

Prepn. of granulated ammonium sulphate by compacting with an added pressing auxiliary or binding agent, comprises addn. of hexamethylene-tetramine (I) and/or methyl cellulose (II) to the ammonium sulphate prior to granulation. The hexamethylene-tetramine alone is added the granulate and subjected to thermal treatment at 80-200 deg.C. USE/ADVANTAGE - Improved storage-, transport- and spreading properties. Ammonium sulphate is useful as a fertiliser in agriculture and forestry. It is produced, e.g., as a by-prod. in prodn. of acrylonitrile or caprolactam. The granulate has a higher grain strength than the pure salt granulate and has the same fertilising quality.
