Wind deflector on the sliding roof of a vehicle having a strip shaped profile (2) on a leading edge (3) of an opening (4), swivel mounted about an axis (5). A folding projection (12) is attached to the upper edge (11) of the profile and stands at an angle of between 50 and 120 deg., preferably 90 deg., in relation to the profile, and in the extended working position creates an energy-rich horseshoe eddy effect (15). ADVANTAGE - Wind deflector which prevents at low cost the incidence of draughts and noise, especially booming, in the vehicle interior.
