The instantaneous position of the closure element is measured by e.g. a Hall effect sensor (23) and compared (27) with a characteristic residual aperture value(s) stored in a memory (25). Opening and closing switches (16, 17) are connected to a position counter (26), reset (R) by a zero verification key (28). The result of the comparison (27) generates a control pulse (30) for driving (18, 19) the opening and closing relays (14, 15) unless inhibited by a processor (22) of an obstruction detection signal (21). USE/ADVANTAGE - Esp. for windows or sliding roofs of motor vehicles, reliable protection against jamming is provided, even with very small residual openings.
