Electrically conducting connection testing and evaluation of press, crimped or crush connections - applying thermal shocks to test and comparison objects using liquids above and below test temp.
Electrically conducting connection testing and evaluation of press, crimped or crush connections - applying thermal shocks to test and comparison objects using liquids above and below test temp.
The method involves the steps of applying alternating thermal loads to the test object in the form of temp. shocks via a temp. stabilised medium. The medium forms a film in the contact region of the test object during testing and interrupts contact points which are intermittently unstable. The test object (6) and a comparison object (8) are placed in a thermostatic chamber (1) and heated by immersion in a temp. stabilised medium (2) at a temp. above the test temp. until temp. equilibrium is achieved. They are then transferred to a container with a liquid below the test temp. to apply thermal shock cooling. USE/ADVANTAGE - Quality and ageing resistance of electrically conducting connections for all types of conductor are tested at low material need and with very short test times.
