The power booster has a primary member (42) with a pair of mirror built elements, one to each side of an axis at right angles to the first axis (56). Between them is a roller assembly (60, 72) and the anchor (44) of the traction drive assemblies (36, 44, 48). The anchor is connected to the secondary member which is a disc (46). Between each pair of rollers (72) are pressure surfaces (60) which taper outwards and are in sliding contact with the primary members (42) whose inner surfaces are ramped. USE/ADVANTAGE - All sliding movement in high pressure areas of the booster is eliminated.
